New Beginnings

New Beginnings

A new day
A new sunrise
A new memory to write
The sun shines bright in the sky
And the children begin to play
People laugh and sing
On this beautiful and glorious day
Picnic baskets packed to bursting
Filled with sandwiches and cakes
Everyone is so very happy
As if everything wrong in the world has disappeared
As the children laugh and the parents chatter new memories are made
People make new friends
And new beginnings are born
This is the time to forget and move on
To create new things to be happy about
To live as though it is the last day on earth
This is summer
So get out and play.

I am Different

I am Different

People stare
people criticize
They judge me before they get to know me
Everyday I am ridiculed
About the way I dress
About the way I look
About my skin colour
I am different
I think they are scared of that
I am different and they are all the same
I have broke the chain
I am hated
Because I am different
Because I am me
I am not someones puppet
They cannot pull their strings and make me change
They cannot control the way I walk
They cannot control the way I talk
They do not own me
I am different
and I like it.

Flames

Flames
Flames that burn deep down inside of you
Its starts as a ficker of light
Then it grows
It grow so much that you cannot control it
Its spreads like wild fire
Consuming you and your mind
Taking over your body
Controling you
It happens so fast you don't even have time to react
Once it has begun you can never go back
You begin to understand
You begin to imagine
You begin to desire
It feeds on you until your mind is not your own
These flames are the flames of love
They started to burn
And they have been burning ever since.

The Never Ending Journey

The Never Ending Journey

Water flows in its own little way
On the never ending journey
Water flows from place to place
From continent to country
From streams to rivers
From lakes to oceans
On the never ending journey
Sometimes it flies into the sky
Then falls down,
Down into the world of society
Into the world of iPhone and iPod
Facebook and Twitter
Into the world of social media
Where one like will save a girls life from cancer
Passing the world unnoticed is water
on the never ending journey
People drink water like it is nothing
Something that will never run out
As if one more like will send a giant downpour of rain
Yet people hide from it when it falls from the sky
They protect their electronics from it as if it were a killer
Water,
The very thing that keeps the human race alive
People shy from it when it falls from the sky
Oh why?
Why must we be scared of rain?
It feeds the ground to help things grow
It keeps our taps from running low
It keeps the human race from dying out
So why must we run from it?
To hide in our houses and be scared of it
Because what is a little bit of rain to a drought?
Water flows in its own little way
On the never ending journey
But one day it will stop.

The Stained Glass Window

The Stained Glass Window

The rain falls in its marvelous way
Hitting everything in its path
I watch as it falls down a stained glass window
Oh how beautiful it is
The colours are brightened
The people of heaven come alive from the window
And then I can see
I can see all the colours of the rainbow
The colours flood onto the window
I can see the sun shining down on everyone
Letting it's rays illuminate all the living things in the world
From every spec of pollen to every blue whale
Even the sun shines onto this little stained glass window
This little thing
It can be so alive
Yet, this window is not living
It does not breathe
It has no heartbeat
It cannot feel
Yet it is so alive
It is alive inside
In our hearts
In our minds
In our souls
Everything has a heartbeat
You just have to listen closely to hear it.
Even a little stained glass window has a heartbeat

Trapped

trapped

i am trapped
my body is my cage
my mind is my captor
a life filled with sadness, despair, and hatred
everyday the same track plays
the sorrow, the tears, they start to create a melody
it plays in my mind over and over again
then it stops,
a light guides me
it opens my cage and releases me from my captor
everywhere is filled with happiness and love
this is only a dream, it can only be a dream
no world is filled with that much love
the world is filled with torment and anger
it is filled with hate and war
and only a little bit of love
so rarely seen yet usually goes unnoticed
i live in my cage trapped by my captor
waiting for love to set me free
